So, what do you all think of this for an idea. How about a trophy for your first 100 completed games, 500, 1000, 5000, etc.? What do you think?

If you can get acknowledgement for just having been online here for a year, shouldn't you get some kind of tip of the hat for playing a lot?

No...... sorry did give a reason, but I think all those trophy's are useless and is worth nothing except to our ego.

Much better to play for our egos than for our ids....  I am all for it, why the hell else would we play (maybe for our super egos?)

I think this idea could be extended to ranks, for example:

0 Completed Games - Chess.com Beginner

1-5 Games - Chess.com _______

5-20 - _________

And then, after advancing through many ranks:

10000+ Games - Chess.com God

Larsera, I agree, there can be no doubt that ego is involved. If you aren't playing to win, you aren't a Chess player.

1000 = "Journeyman"

2500 = "Sensei"

5000 = "Force of Nature"

10000 = "Obsessed"

20000 = "Divorced"

the most games currently listed are by Awardchess at ~8000... so I think this list would hold for a long time before any deity reared its head....that is a good thing I believe....
