Well...the total population of the earth is estimated to be around 6,783,557,879, so um what's the math there?

The math is that, as stated in the first post, this is a CHESS SITE. The official web rankings say that chess.com is the 5,553rd most popular site on the internet! Congratulations chess.com!

Here is a rather handy graph depicting chess.com being in an entirely different league to every other chess site:

The graph is measuring the percentage of all internet users that go on each site in a day. The blue line is chess.com. Down at the bottom, we have chessclub.com (the ICC) in red, freechess.org in brown, queenalice.com in turquoise and schemingmind.com in black.

Pretty conclusive, I would say.

In the amount of registered players Gameknot.com is still in front of Chess.com with 880,370 players (21.5.-09. 1547 GMT)...

Yes, but how many of those are active? The ENTIRE gameknot.com site gets less visitors than chess.com each day:

Interesting statistics from a marketing point of few. Still seems to me that this site is dominated by beginning players and young kids. Look sat the popular posts and tell me how many of them are serious.

In the short time I have been here I think chess.com has done some great  things and will continue to grow. My guess is active members like at most sites is much less.

The math is that we only need to get 6,782,957,879 people to join chess.com and then we will have around about the worlds population on chess.com

I think that was the answer I was looking for.
