Member Account Closed

Sorry! This member's account has been closed.

I got this message when I checked out "The_pLeisure_Sisters's" account as I was wondering why it had taken so long for her to make a move in our game.

Can anybody shed any light as to why members accounts get closed off like this?

There's an active account named "Lady_Of_pLeisure". I'm going to take a shot in the dark here that maybe she could answer your question. ;)

I think accounts, in general, are closed at a user's request and also for violating the ToS (inappropriate language, impersonation, multiple accounts, etc).

:-)  I'm also playing a game against her, but wouldn't like to ask.

Ah yes, but why not close both accounts then?

Because in the case of multiple accounts, the accounts are suspended and the user is given the option of keeping just one account open.

There is also the option available now for the user to delete their own account.

There is no proof that this is infact a case of multiple account -

One of the accounts claimed it was multiple accounts, the other said nothing.

I too started playing a game with the Lady of pLeisure, and then got an invite from the pLeisure Sisters to play a game. The avatar of the pLeisure Sisters was a photo of 2 women, one of whom looks exactly like the photo of the Lady of PLeisure, and the pLeisure Sisters did indeed imply that they were sisters

The place (Wilsford-cum-Lake for those who don't know) is a real place in Wiltshire, England - there are a lot of wierd and rude place names in the UK, so this doesn't mean anything in itself

I haven't had any inappropriate messages from either player. I wonder whether the admin here can't take a joke regarding the tongue-in-cheek names of the two players?

What is a tounge-in-cheek joke to me, being 29, may not be appropriate for underage visitors to the site. I wouldn't want any children to have to stumble across any lude material while on this site, so it is good that this sort of thing is kept in check. If you want adult funnies, go get a girlie mag or something.

Errm, I'm not a native speaker in English, but it is my impression that any youth being able to decipher the tongue-in-cheek jokes on the aforementioned  accounts has rather more experience with lude material than can be found there.

I agree! If people are old enough to understand lewd puns, they are old enough not to be shocked by them

In this instance though the names are so tame that it's laughable - it's not even as if they are a play on a rude word! The term "a lady of leisure" is commonly used for a woman who is married to a man who is so rich that she does not need to work

Still, I would like to see a reason given why peoples' accounts get closed.

I know this may sound a bit pathetic, but there are countries in the world where real people, not just accounts, simply disappear. Therfore I am convinced one mustn't get used to this kind of thing at all, even in the virtual world of web 2.0.

Perhaps I should also make clear that this is not meant to offend the builders of this great site, I think it very probable they have good reasons for closing the accounts in question. I'd simply like to know them.

Kind Regards,

Torkil

Seeing that this subject has generated a certain amount of interest, I agree, it would be interesting to know why the account was closed if only to possibly avoid  the same thing happening to us , or anyone for that matter.
