    Yeah, I guess technically that is an ad but at least it's not a big flashy one/ a pop-up. The team's just spreading the word on this great deal (I actually just bought it 3 hours ago) to 1. help us out in being aware of the deal if we're so interested and 2. help out their chess-site brethren with some advertising. Win-win?

    Either way, if it bothers you that you have one ad within your field of vision, while you pay your hard-earned money not to have it... then put a smile on and wait for it to be gone in another 21 hours. =D

    I order on average 2-3 books per month from the US and I am aware of the fact that shipping is costly. A total of 39:90USD is about three times as much as I had expected.

     if you hover over the NO ADS" on the membership page it says: Premium Members will not see any external ads on Chess.com (other than the main homepage) and will see very few internal ads (announcing new products and services).
