Could we for online games get the option of specifying the initial time granted and the time added for each move individually. Especially for tournaments it would be nice to be able to grant relatively little time per move, say 12 to 24 hours so that games will not take forever, but still be able to have a bigger time pool and initial time, 3 days for instance, so that there is room for a little stray or forgetting. Just like the timing in live chess, but with a roof over how much time you can cumulate.
Another idea is for tournaments to be able to set a schedule for when subsequent games must be started, so that if two players are yet to finish their first game after a set time their next game will be started anyway in order to get the tournament going.

Thank you for your interesting suggestions. Your second idea I believe we already have. When you create a tournament you should see an option to set the concurrent games as 2 so that when a tournament round starts both games (with white and black pieces) start at immediately against the same opponent. This tournament setting is commonly used to speed up tournaments so that rounds can be completed sooner.
I see that option, but what I suggest is that the 2nd games shouldn't start immediately but instead after the first game is finished or a set amount of time has passed, whichever happens first.

I think eBusiness' suggestion here is the number 1 most needed feature for this site.
I play 3 day games not because I want to spend 3 days on every move, but because I want to spend 3 days occasionally. And I think it is the same for most players.
A tournament set to 3 days max + 1 day/move would be almost as fast as a 1 day tournament without all the inflexibility. Such a timing option would probably rapidly replace 3 days as the most common.
