Indeed, I have found one excellent way to raise your chess.com rating hundreds of points! Stick with me - this is no joke.

Due to the increasing number of high-rated players found cheating on chess.com lately (including a few this week: LucidDream, Nonnetrevuno, Pelger), a large variety of players have found themselves winning rated games on time and increasing their ratings significantly. Well, here's my idea!

All of you sub-2000's obviously want a higher rating! Well, begin challenging these top players to rated games (10 days per move), and then proceed to move every 9 days! That means in the matter of 3 months, you'll have made about 9-10 moves in your games with these top-rated players! That's rarely enough to checkmate! Continue to do this for a while - challenge them to a second or third game if you get checkmated.

Eventually, you'll find your opponent has been BANNED for cheating (whether they were actually cheating or not), and you'll find yourself showered in rating points! YES! Rating points GALORE!!!

The more top-rated players you play with, rated, the higher your rating will ultimately be! So, trust me on this method, for it is guaranteed to work! Erik and his team will eventually fish out every single top player, and then, who knows - someday you may become one of those top players too and also be BANNED. For that, my friends, is every chess.com member's dream.

You're all welcome.

[Or use the old-fashioned way and practice your chess - but that's no fun!]

There are two enormous problems with this. First, not all these high-raters are cheaters. Second, they'll never accept these challenges.

Ah, but that's where you're mistaken, friend! I've played many a high-rated player who have often got into the top 50 players. [Some stopped playing, others been BANNED]

Well, I'll honestly tell you that my method has worked for me considerably well (I will soon gain a grand total of less than 60 points from one player). Wait, I haven't used this method at all. Maybe I should practice the total B.S. that I preach!

It seems to me that most peope here are more concerned with their ratings then than getting enjoyment out of playing a game of chess. ratings mean nothing.

The problem here is that a higher rating should reflect a better knowledge of the game, and is a personal reward to yourself!  Mere numbers mean absolutely nothing.  If suddenly, FIDE elected me an honorary GM and just gave me a 2500 rating, it would be ridiculous because I could never back that rating up.

Self esteem boosts can come in many forms - chess rating numbers can be one of them, as long as they are earned!

Just my 2 cents haha.

I jumped from 2100 to 2400+ after a couple of tournament cheaters were banned. I definitely didn't need that to happen.

Serious flaw: you'll just lose those points as soon as you play other players.
