Hi ya, 

Firstly before it sounds like I'm whinging, thank you so much for such a cool app.  It's easy to navigate and covers just about everything I would want in an app.  Kudos to the dev team for that.

That out of the way I just wanted to hi-light a couple of minor issues I'm having with the latest update (1.9851) which I've just updated to.  

1) Live Play - Everytime I click on this button I get the error "you must set up a password at Chess.com".  I wonder if this is anything to do with me logging on via facebook ?

2) Finished Games - I'm currently unable to review my previous games.  When you click on a game, it loads the final position and then pieces disappear and all the pieces that are left become 1 colour.   Pressing the move buttons causes pieces to appear and disappear at random.   Also in the list of finished games the game result "won" or "lost" is not displayed against all games in the list.

3) Current game / Next Game Menu Setting - I have the option "stay in current game after move" selected but it goes to the next game or back to the game list regardless.

4) Notification of move icon in Status Bar is no longer appearing. :(

5) I've also have a couple of "Force Closes" as well.  Something that never happened with the previous version.

Edit:- 6) Back Button at main menu doesn't exit the app anymore.  It just cycles back to the previous opened menu option.  To get out of the app I now have to press the home button.

I have a HTC Desire running Android 2.2.    As I said these are minor issues and I can get round them.   Again thank you to the dev team for providing such a great app.

We know about #1, and the theory is that yes, it's specific to using Facebook connect. (Of course, it still needs to be fixed.) We're working on it now. We're also aware of #3 & #4.

Regarding #5, we are always greatly assisted by any crash-logs you can provide if the app dies ungracefully - especially if it's a consistent thing, easy to reproduce. See here for more details, and thanks in advance if you can help.

I'm creating new tickets to have a look at #2 and #6. Thanks for the report!

Thank you so much for the response.  I rebooted my Phone, just after my previous post and whilst still experiencing the issues above, I haven't had a "Force Close" event happen since then.  Of course if one does I will be sure to try and replicate it and get you a log file.

Hi, a tiny mini glitch; when playing team match game 1 of 2 and win that 1st game, game 2 will automatically start, i cannot move, have to get out and start over. Really not big deal, but you want to know all ;-)

Will the "no alert" problem be resolved? That was real cool feature of app.

Another small one; the name and rating of my opponent are not (completely) visable even though there is enough space to completely write it out

Last small one for now: start a live chess game you get a popup note, but thats unreadable: very light grey, only link is readable & it flahes up shortly

I miss the alert too. I used to catch the alert using tasker and make a sound (with a minimum time gap to prevent it been too frequent). Now I have to check myself! 

Yes, we are working on addressing the Alert issue in the very next update.

this is a great thread, I have a few:

1) there is no resign button in the live chess part of the app

2) While analysing a turn based game, the app sponteniously shows a ghost position and either crash or become non responsive ( ie I have to use the back button to go to the previous page and come back) or shows "Errors"

3) If the moves are clickable it would be awesome.

This glitch is not only with team games i now see; every gam i checkmate the next game i cannot move (settings automatic go to next game after submit move)

Hmmmmmm..... i just now checkmate a game http://www.chess.com/echess/game.html?id=53079386 and i CAN make a move in the next game. Dunno whats the difference with previous games that freeses after checkmate. No logic there.....

Strange things happen in the app & I still love and preferplaying my games with it

Seem to have the alert now (90). Found a small problem though. After making a move in another game, it correctly shows one game outstanding. I resigned that game and it still showed it and allows me to resign again and again. Interestingly on my PC I see one game outstanding for the same player but it is the game that auto-started when I resigned. So the PC is correct while the app shows the game that I want to resign. I guess the app is caching the game and since I have one game outstanding for the same player keeps showing me the old one. Closing and starting the app didn't fix this but rebooting the phone did.

Hi, thank you forthe update of the app! Seems to work propperly overall. Small issue concerningdraw i noticed; when offering a draw it forces you to make a move. After making move you go to next game. Zo fa so good, but when making move in next game i got back to previous game and have to make same move in 1st game again.

Well just a small inconvienance, happy with the update and thanks for all thehard work.

Ps. Starting alive game no notification shows up again, so my remark on that can be annulled.

Last update version 1.986 shows that notification issue is still problem for some users. 

Few questions:

1. What exact behaviour do You expect from notification feature? For what kinf of game - Live or Online?

2. What update time do You think is optimal? Or it should be flexible in the settings?

3. What app lifecycle do You have? I mean how do You close the app, what network settings do you have(sleep policy). Do You use task killers?

I only play on line and want a notification if I have an outstanding game. Ideally I'd like to control the frequency from the settings, but, provided there is a frequency of say 5 or 10 minutes I can adjust the frequency of my sound notifications myself on top of that. I use tasker to say if there hasn't been a sound in x minutes and there is a notification make a sound again. Of course it would be better if there was an optional notification sound at an optional frequency, within the app.

While I sometimes turn off the sound I'd prefer the app to start running in the background - and so have notifications - from phone switch on to switch off (I use airplane mode at night, so no notifications, but leave the phone on as an alarm). I don't use a task killer especially on this app.

Hmm, I now notice after a couple of days, that the notification function is not constant; sometimes works perfect (especially when I just start), and sometimes it doesn't work (anymore). Can't find a propper reason for why and when it does or doesn't work constantly.

answers for the quenstion:

1. I'm mainly interested in the Online games feature

2. For me immediately when an opponent makes a move, but will settle for longer. Flexible in settings would be a good additionin my view

3. I go out using the 'home' icon, the back icon brings me to main screen app; mainly not where I want togo after coming back to list. I douse task killers, but I've never seen the chess app active in there and killing all tasks at once, doesn't seem to influance the app.

An addition to other probs. I've noticed that when somebosy wants to offer me a Draw, it showes in the list, but when going to the game, I connot accpet the draw and have to move. Shouldn't there be an (pop-up) option? or do I have todo something else? not clear.

Adding the vote-chess games in the online list would be a nice addition, but probably too complicated for now (maybe if you can't find any probl. in the app and are in dangour of getting unemployed, you could suggest it ;-) ).

In old app when opponent wrote a message, it would highlight in the bar orange. doesnt do so anymore i found out. Could you repair that in nxt update please
