Hi, contented chess.com member polling in here.  The interface is great, best online chess experience I've had.  A small suggestion - oftentimes players play in spurts on here (the benefit of e-mail chess) but it is difficult for others to judge whether a player will respond to a move quickly or not.  Obviously the online icon helps, or a player can simply chat-message another and let them know when they will be back.  However, when one is playing a large quantity of fast-paced games at the same time, it is not advantageous to chat to 15 different people that you will be "back in 10 minutes."  I would like to see a "status" box that would allow others to see what your expected schedule would be like.  That would help a lot.

well the online icon doesnt always help some people leave it on all the time besides I just leave I'm not the "chatty" type

the status message would show on your profile and in your VACATION box if you are on vacation.

This is the third thread (at least) with a similar theme to it -- letting all opponents know simultaneously of our status (or upcoming status, e.g. I'm taking a vacation next week). Seems to be a popular idea. :-)

That is one of the things I love about this site.  Someone makes a suggestion, and it either is taken into the development plan, or is currently being developed.  It sounds like we are going to have more features soon!
