At least the vast majority of them. A GM is someone who has spent their entire life studying a BOARD GAME all just to atain a silly title ("Grand Master", really??) that sounds like it's the name of the leader of some make-believe wizard order in a five-year-old's game. What could they possibly have to add to our community? What have they done to earn their free diamond memberships?
weak trolling is weak
That just proves how serious they are about chess. So what you're saying is that only those who don't care about chess should be on this site? All titled players (not just GMs) have more than proved their worth. We could learn a lot from them. They deserve free membership; what's the point of earning a title if it doesn't get you anything? It also increases the incentive to get better at chess and maybe earn a title. I fail to understand the logic of you arguement that chess Grandmasters should by default be banned from a chess site of all places!!!
Trolling score: 3/10
sounds like a little jealousy,i wish i was that good at chess to have superb command of the board, learn minor7b
Now... that's being a little too harsh. I would give something like 6/10 (with 5/10 being not good, not bad).
If titled players didn't get free memberships, there would be no attraction for anyone else to pay money to join, because the titled would have no reason to be here. ICC did the samething 20 years ago GM's free and everyone else followed. It is good business sense. It is all about the money.
I'll take a 6/10 from Macer75. To be fair, a couple of people seemed to take it seriously (I love chess.com forums for that reason. I imagine these people flipping through a far side comic book and getting confused about all the talking animals and angry at the "offensive" statements). Macer75, do you have any tips for improving my trolls? Don't send me to the "how to troll" thread...
If you really have that much passion about trolling, maybe you could consider joining the ETS?
It's pretty much impossible to say anything substantial about how to troll in one post, so I'm not going to try, and instead I recommend you to check out the ETS forums. In the forums me and other group members have posted many tips regarding trolling and other topics related to trolling.
