I don't recall seeing the BETA over the Chess.com logo before today -- I know live chess has been in BETA for some time now, I presume this means that the whole site is as well?

It been there for at least a few days.  Its a fairly recent change though.  I don't recall it being there a couple of weeks ago.

afaik it's always been there, and it's a bit silly imo.  I think it should have gone when they introduced premium memberships, but with clear indications of the parts of the site or extra features that are in beta, ie live chess, for people when signing up. 

it's always been there. it will disappear as soon as live chess leaves BETA (fingers crossed - who knows!)
