Oh calm down Mildred.  Of course they'll refund your money if you no longer want a premium account.  This comes up all the time.  If you sent a support "ticket" to billing it might take a few days though.  You did send it to Billing?

Here's the link, just in case...

So by now, hopefully you've clicked the link, brought up Billing on the drop down menu, explained your problem and in a few days we'll all be happy again?

I've just checked and they have cancelled my membership - effective from 14th June NEXT YEAR. Therefore, no refund for the 363 days remaining of this year. I specifically asked them to cancel immediately and give me a refund as per their '30 day no questions asked' guarantee.

No.  You will still get your refund.  The link that you clicked on is to make sure you don't get billed again next year.  If you had clicked it before your subscription ran out, Billing wouldn't have to straighten this out.  Now you'll have to wait a little while for your refund.  Good luck!

You're very welcome.  It may be abhorrent, but autorenewing memberships are probably the standard in digital delivery so Chess.com is hardly an innovator here.

My name Paul, this between y'all. Laughing

why would anyone not want to be a life long member?

Honestly, just about everything autorenews unless you choose to send them a message telling it to stop... netflix, xbox live, etc all auto renew. It'd be nice if there was a checkbox or something in your profile that would control it though.

Thanks Ronald - looks like I'm not the only one who got ripped. I wonder how many are out there who never even log on any more and are still inadvertently paying for premium memberships.

Still, I have been told my money is being refunded, so all good - that's why I removed my earlier comments.
