Are there any plans to build a mobile app for the blackberry storm that will work (I have never been able to use my storm and the mobile client, I have tried the download/setup multiple times). Everything else on this site works great, and I am excited for the new update coming in May!

I have seen posts from 2008 with this issue. Here it is late May of 2009 and no body seems to want to reply to these posts regarding the Storm. I imagine it will not be corrected any time soon....

I have tried numerous times as well. I have given up for now.
actually the new version seems to work if you turn on compatability mode... sure no touch screen... but it is still quite nice.
Works well! Thanks.

How does it work exactly? I get on the site but it locks itself up....
Go into Options -> Advanced Options -> Applications. Select the chess.com application and click the BlackBerry button. Select the option to run in compatibility mode. This will make the program run as if it were on an older BlackBerry. BE CAREFUL! The buttone are not intuitive and I nearly resigned a game because of it! I do not know which buttons control what so I cannot give you a list, sorry...
Thanks.
I got to he page with my games, but impossible to go to the game. Crap, had I know that I would have gotten an IPhone, no kidding! Cannot figure out what buttons to use to do anything. I inadvertantly started a new game with some random dude...
I wrote this in a previous post about the storm:

I have had this problem a lot so here is a quick solution to make this work for you guys.
1. After closing the chess.com application go into the options menu
2. click on advanced options.
3. click applications
4. after the applications load scroll down until you have chess.com highlighted.
5. Click the blackberry button and choose "enable compatibility mode."
6. go back to the chess.com program.
7. In compatibility mode it will always be in portrait mode with the keyboard always showing. key controls:
TY = up
DF = left
BN = down
JK = right
space = select
qw = left menu button
op = right menu button
if you move your finger around the top part of the screen it works as if you were moving around a trackball on a blackberry curve/perl/bold.
*EDIT* thanks to Redemption for correcting this point. See post below.
Let me know if you have any questions... works great with the storm in theis mode.
Oh my! Thanks a lot!!! That just made my day. So now it works great :)
Just a precision: you don't have to have the keyboard in suretype. The normal keyboard works too. O being the right menu, Q the left one and so on.
Awesome awesome awesome!

I did everything stated in the above coments, i enabled compatiblity mode, but it simply will not let me log in. Everytime i try, i get the message "acount is locked, log in at chess.com"....this is very frustrating, anyone know what the solution is?
I have never encountered that error before... Anyone else? It sounds more like an account problem with this site then a phone problem though.
Yes I agree. Though apparently he can log on the site!
the only other real difference I see, is the diamond vs free membership. I am not sure if that could cause the problem he/she is seeing.
