Remellion,  I appreciate the input, but if en passant is the move, it's not one my son has ever learned, nor is it one I've found consistent on the site.

I've attempted it before, but was denied, which is why I didn't think of it this time.

If it's not that, please enlighten me.  I'm not a GM, just an American man, trying to get his Thai stepson to enjoy chess.

You son can't resolve a game because of a freeze on the ipad.  Have you tried to make a move from a tower computer??

Are you talking about online or live. Online is longer ranging from 1-14 days.(I think you have to be in a special group to get online games in 10 minutes.) Otherwise, Live chess is where you play 15|10 games with more or less time controls.

It is en passant. It is consistent on this site, and there is only one version of it, which can be explained:

If your opponent's last move was a 2 step pawn move ending immediately next to your pawn (e.g. white plays 1. e2-e4 when a black pawn is on d4 or f4, or black plays 1...c7-c5 when a white pawn is on b5 or d5) then you can capture en passant immediately (but if you don't, then you can't do it next move.)

It's really much simpler than it sounds. And the criterion is met in that game, so yes, it's not checkmate.

Can you please educate your son in another thread??   This thread is for computer glitches, screen freezes, and any other snafu that doesn't fall under the parameters of Microsoft and chess.com working properly.  Thank you.

For the second time with an opponent we have had a game hang.

I just had a Chess960 game hang in a similar way.

    http://www.chess.com/echess/game?id=96061616

White castled (13. O-O-O), and Black's clock started to run, but White's move was not shown on the board.  The highlighted move was 12. ... e6.

Black eventually resigned.  He ran out of time and ran out of vacation waiting for Support to respond.  Now that he has resigned and the game is over, I notice that the move list only shows the first 11 moves!  How can Chess960 be so buggy?!

Too bad that this had to happen in Round 3 of a tournament.  Does Support respond to these kinds of requests?

Captain Ralph;  " Does Support respond to these kinds of requests?"   They do if you post in the help & support FORUM.   Oh, look at that!  MY Bad,

On some (but not all) of my games, moves will sometimes be shown "in reverse". That is, if somebody played Nf3-e5, afterwards, the knight will still be on f3, with both squares highlighted. It looks exactly like it would look after Ne5-f3. Except, of course, that now the board shows the piece on a square where it is not. This has resulted in the loss of several games for me.

Give me the address to two games that this has happened and I will attempt to help you.

Thanks for the response, Mr Cote, and the attitude.  It didn't help, but I suppose it was easier than posting a link.  When one tries to contact support through their mail form, they request that one first search the FAQs and Forums.  Wasn't my idea to waste your time.

Good news, though -- I did get a very helpful response from Support after only about two days, which is not bad at all.  They restored my game.  So, we'll play on, and hit the bug again, and maybe have it looked at once we've duplicated the problem.

    Thanks for the help, everybody.

Captain Ralph;  it really wasn't attitude. I've seen staff post in here many times. I just didn't realize that the thread--Bugs, was in the right forum, until after I posted. I was too lazy to delete the comment, so I corrected it. Glad to hear your situation is a cleared up. Arrakis09 is the real tech wizard. I meant no disrepect.
