This is related to my other post concerning whether or not it is a good investment to go premium. You only get access to the Chess Mentor at the highest level of premium membership (Diamond).

It's about $100 for a year at the current rate.

That is a good deal for chess instruction. Especially when you consider how much human instruction can cost you on an hourly basis.

But is it still worth that $100 just for that?

Speak up and let me know what you think about the effectiveness of Chess Mentor that the Diamond Membership gets you access to. Has it improved your playing ability? Have you become a better all around player because of it? Do you plan better from the lessons it provides? Or has the improvement been minimal or non-existent?

Thanks for your comments!!!

Yes it really is. But thats just my opinion. I use the unlimited chess mentor and tactics trainer on a daily basis. I would only caution someone against the investment if they don't get on the site very regularly. The use of these two resources has definitely helped me in certain parts of my game. Good luck whatever way you go!

Tactics Trainer and Chess Mentor are wonderful tools, especially if you can use them regularly.

Chess Mentor is probably the best interactive chess training system you can find. Probably only direct coaching beats it, but it's way more expensive.

If you have the time to use them, go for it!

In the demo video, it says you get 10 free lessons just by signing up. Siging up for what? If you get the full membership, then all your lessons are already prepaid.

So how does one get the 10 free lessons before committing any funds?
