I sent a test email to and from my account to check it worked, but apart from my alerts from this site I haven't used it for anything else yet.

It works very well, I think, although it does take a little while to open.

I tried it out, and it looks very nice. It takes about 5 seconds to load for me (I've got 8mbit cable). I usually use my company email for just about everything, but I am sure many people will like it, it seems better than Hotmail/Yahoo to me.

It's true, it takes some time to open, but it seems ok.

cool. the reason it takes a little bit to login is because it has to do an authenticated login directly from your account. i'll look into speeding up the process...

Yeah, I understand. The wait really isn't bad at all, but yeah the faster the better.

I have tried it and it looks nice. It takes a little too long to get it started IMO.

I like it very much, thank you. It is very convenient: you can visit one of your favoutite sites and at the same time see your email. Although

almost every member of this site surely has their primary email, I think this email won't always be only a secondary or additional one. It is just a matter of time, I think.

with no messages it takes 10-20 seconds to fully load the inbox with graphics

It does take time to load. But I like it anyway. Using @chess.com email will show your friends that you like chess (as well as chess.com) very much, and it can also promote this site, i guess.

I like the little two sentence Chess.com ad it sends along at the bottom of the email to the sender. It is always good to be able to promote Chess.com while emailing.

    Does it work with Macs?
I tried opening a test e-mail I sent to myself, and it downloads something called "parse.php" to my desktop, opens a new window, and then does nothing. Am I doing something wrong?

hm. I'm new to the site and plan on using the email for sure. I may be able to offer some helpful information to the situation you are having 'insidestraight', I'm a Linux user, so now I'm eager to see if something similar will occur with my system. I would test it right now but i'm very tired, I'll let you guys know what I find out in this thread.

Oh, btw as a first post on this forum, so far, I'm very impressed with chess.com

Hm.  The alerts work with my work email but not with my gmail.  Any other gmail uses here?

I use it as my primary e-mail.  I'm actually not that crazy about it, but I never have to log in to an account just to check my inbox, as I'm here constantly.  I think hotmail, gmail, etc., are better, but I don't really care.  It's a matter of convenience.

I've found a great use for it, a free, and an almost effortless to set up additional email address is always good to have.
