Yes, I know, some of you will deem me strange, but I stand strong on this statement. Chess.com is way better than facebook or myspace and the whatnot, even if it isn't a social website, I think it serves as one better than facebook. No spam besides ads, the site is NOT a waste of time, and... it's cool. You may now flame me if you want.

you are sooooooooo wrong! just kidding - i totally agree. i have a lot of friends on facebook, but it just doesn't hold my attention.

I got to this site via Facebook. I have now lost all interest in Facebook. Meet new people. Play some decent games. Learn some good tactics and openings. You have made a monster, Erik! Long may it continue.

I know.  This site is completely addicting.  My parents are always getting mad at me for being on too long.  This site isn't blocked at my school, but Facebook and Myspace are.  This site makes those others look like jokes.  Thanks to erik for everything he does for this site!

I have started a support group for addicts on the site (contradictory I know) but I agree facebook and myspace are nothing compared to this.
