I got an alert for a game I resigned last night; One of the options under request rematch was "Request Computer Analysis". I had never seen this before. Is this some sort of new feature? I hope so.
yep use it well thou. only 1 per week for us.It takes ages thou.
Now they tell me
BUT afterward you're supposed to get GREAT analysis. :D
1 per week, really?
Once per week is great, considering how much processing power it takes, just wished I'd used on a different game now! Still it's going to be cool to see the results of the anaylsis :-)
does this only come up after a game is completely? how many are paying players allowed to have? i'm looking forward to using it!
Found this here: http://support.chess.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=700
"Basic memberships: 1 Computer Analysis per month / search depth of 8 ply estimated at 2000 strength.
Silver/Gold memberships: 1 Computer Analysis per week / search depth of 10 ply estimated at 2200 strength.
Platinum/Diamond memberships: 10 Computer Analysis per week / search depth of 12 ply estimated at 2400 strength."
I played a shocking game where I lost a piece on my fourth move and then set myself up for checkmate on my fifth. I saw the wee computer analysis button as I resigned and expected to see something flash up on the screen, instead it has been sent to a secert lab. Is there a way to stop your request? Since my request is a waste of everybodies time :)
Whoo hoo!
Maradonna
I did the same thing LOL! I clicked the button just to see what it did, but worse then that the game is being analysed by a computer which is weaker then the standard of the game itself (Linksspringer v Petershaby!). I will get results which will suggest I should have played different moves - most of them will no doubt be weak tactical threats, and not of the positional sense that would be required to play for an even endgame as black. Nevermind, should be interesting!
petershaby
Aye, I can see the computer laughing at me now. I'm just glad I'm not the only one :)

Me too!
well, at least the basics have one analysis per month.
I wonder if these rating estimates are FIDE or Chess.com? I'll be trying it out, have sent one fairly easy win for me for analysis, still waiting. I already look at about 10-15 % of my games with Fritz, particularly the losses, interesting opening novelties or tactical complications. I've found I've given draws where I was winning by a large margin per Fritz but I've had a few escapes agaisnt very strong players. Puts paid to the notion that the vast majority of the top 100 players are cheating.
Yeah MM78, and the fact that almost none of them play live chess definitely makes you wonder.
Well this sure is an interesting feature, kind of wish they would nix the freebies and up the strength of membership analysis, but I'm still happy about this new feature.
Is there an estimation of how long the process takes?
folow the link given earlier for all details: but here's the relevant bit:
After you complete a chess game in the Live Chess or Online Chess play you can click on the "Computer Analysis" link on the game page to send the game in for the computer programs at Chess.com to analyze. Note that this process can take up to 24 hours to complete the computer analysis for one game as the computer programs at Chess.com deeply and critically analyze the game move by move. Once the Computer Analysis has been completed you will be sent a message to your Chess.com account when you will be able to access and view this analysis to learn from the game.
It should ask to make sure if you want to send that game. I, like others have said, clicked the button to see what it did on a game that lasted 2 moves (greeter game, opponent never returned, as per usual) and now I've wasted it.
Same here! Now I have to wait a week before I can have another go!Peter, how many dubious moves has the computer found in our game?
