They got to be ordered in.

Over here I pay €80-€90 for a case, compared to Aus$50 when I was over there last year.

Geez, that is incredible. For special occassions then, I guess. Just remember, you don't need all of your organs to play chess.

Yeah, James Boags. More of a market in Australia for boutique-style beers than 10 years ago. And lots of smaller brewers too. Actually, if you are ever in Canberra, go to a pub called the Wig and Pen - brewed on site with some pretty different beers on tap. Anyway, the alabaster should get back to work. See ya.

Wow! Last time I posted was today and there were 4 less pages!!! And I don't even think we're talking about the late great King William anymore... this has almost just degenerated into "Flame Wars: Volume III"

marysson,

Frank Sinatra sings "regrets, I had a few, but then again, too FEW to mention", whilst the Morrissey version is "regrets, I had a few, but then again, too MANY to mention". I know you had your eyes on that meat tray - better luck next time.

marysson,

I will take the former. I could do with a lift after lunch anway, so thanks. To tell you the truth, I have cooked up some of the meat already - having a couple of eye fillets right now for lunch. Delicious, it is a shame you answered incorrectly....

Indeed, and bloody brilliant to boot.

Well, how embarassing -- seems I pasted in the wrong video link....

Here's what I meant to share:

Although the audio's lousy and the self indulgent video's worse, the song's far more relevant

Evil_Homer, your statement still stands, as does mine.

I've seen worse. I've seen a topic about a game turn to a topic about pretzels in the first reply.

Altogether a marvellous tribute complete with two ardent Irishmen, a wrangling feud and a misquotation of Shakespeare from batgirl (if very minor).

Seriously though where is that King?  He's hosting a tournament I'm in, which is supposed to never end!!!  You can't get a much better tribute than that.

I never corresponded with the self appointed 'king' (who wants to be known as a 'king' anyway - except for people with inflated opinions about themself) but did note, as others above have that he tried to bully a few individuals on these ;open forum' threads.

Often, you would see a few of his friends join in the attack, as he was often in need of help from anyone he lay his hands on. I can't remember the details now, but the king got into an argument with someone who was making a complete idiot of him and then the king posted a stack of personal details about someone and made some unsubstantiated claims, which might have landed him in a legal nightmare?

To those who claim to be a friend of the king, I think the rest of us can judge you by the company you keep! Another cliche that would seem appropriate would be...'birds of a feather flock together'. Would all the jerk friends of the king plz admit their fondness for him here-after, or forever hold their peace!

Now that is amusing... one who calls himself "Cretin"(who wants to be known as a 'Cretin' anyway - except for people with deflated opinions about themself) takes the mickey out of another called "King". Laughing

Hi Rael,

yes I am a newbie here at chess.com & have found that entering this area of discussion is seemingly fraught with danger from sharks who just want to bite! Anyway, I see you are a friend of kw and so I guess that speaks volumes about you. You noted that I am fairly new to this site, and I acknowledge the type of welcome you have given me...similar to kohai. I am the cret1n...but you guys make me look like a genius!

Hi Rael. You will have to read my original post indicating why I took a dislike to kw. Several others have backed me up, people unknown to me...whereas you guys [shall we call you collectively 'the bullies'] have formed a little clique and always charge in to try and gang up against 'the outsider'. Anyway, I joined this site to play chess and meet decent people, and it seems I will have to look elsewhere for both a decent discussion and a decent game of chess...unless any of you want a friendly game? Hell, with the right type of apology I could even give you some advice on how to lift yourself from the chess peat-bog :)

Cheers

Well, I see that my old adversary KOHAI is a friend of king_william!  I feel bad putting a personal message on the net by I'm sure that the dirt bag king_william & his friends would normally delight in what follow:

... On most forums, posting a private message from someone else in a public forum would lead to being banned.. You have breeched not only etiquette but any standard of decency, privacy and respect.

Now ye liken anyone who mentions that they liked William, "are lousy chess players, poor debaters and low down good for nothing internet bullies..." etc...

Enough please, if you feel the need to personally attack or abuse people, do it in yer own head, it is not welcome here.

Shame on ye fer that and shame on ye fer trolling/flamebaiting.

Thanks for the advice :) I noticed pishead was one of those bullies i referred to earlier. Good to see that kohai just finds the personal post amusing...so no need to come to her rescue!

Unfortunately, i suspect that there would be very few intelligent people who read much of the kw output...so very few will speak out against him. Fact remains, he disappeared and didn't bother to even tell his 'friends' where or what has become of him!

I'm glad I don't have friends who would treat me in that way...he obviously cared less about you that you poor critters do about him. Think about it!
