We have finally added in referrals! If you refer someone to Chess.com (either either invite friends with this email tool, or Spread the Word with these blog/widget tools, or when they signup they add your name as the referrer) then you will get 30 days of free Chess.com Premium Membership! If you are already a member, it will extend your membership for free for 30 days. If you are not a paid member, you will get 30 days of Silver membership.

Oh snap. I've brought a whole bunch of friends onto the site, but now I'm all out. Ah well.

 

Hey erik - to prevent abuse, wouldn't it be prudent to include a clause re: that the person actually stays/plays for a few months? I mean.. I can just hear the  accounts getting whipped up fradulently for that free month. Yikes.

people can't just get a bunch of fake profiles - they have to become PREMIUM members for you to get the credit.

also, we retroactively gave membership credit to anyone who had referred a currently paying member!

Here's a suggestion. When someone clicks through one of the referral links, is there a way that a link can appear on the homepage to view "xyz'd profile" ?  i.e. someone browses my site, clicks on my simple banner, and lands on the homepage - or - better still; my public profile.

cmon guys you gotta think outside of the box with the referral program...anybody i talk to online i at least run it past them...you can never run out of friends to refer because cmon guys..let's face it...there's millions of people at your fingertips
