Today we brought the site down for a long time (so sorry - took 5x longer than expected :( ) so we could do some major optimizations. What did we do?

95% of what we did was massive database re-architecture updates to improve queries on forums and other high-traffic pages. This should help Chess.com be faster, and most importantly, make Live Chess smoother.

We also fixes a bunch of misc small stuff like links, mispellings, etc.

Sorry for being down for so long! It was really stressful for all of us  :)

We have added 2 hours to everyone's game clocks.

Enjoy!

Erik

I'm also noticing that when I leave comments, it reflects that in the main list of topics, but the righthand side list doesn't. If that makes sense.

Yeah, but you post in so many topics, do you REALLY want a list of all those?? ;-)

I just made two new posts and those do not show up on topics I have posted in either so it is a continuing error not just an accidental deletion from the recent upgrade. Probably for the best. I post too much too. So probably best to just make a post and then never respond in the that subect again as I wont know where to look for it.  lol.
