I visit imageboards alot. For those that never seen any they're pretty much like a forum but made for posting images easier and threads disappear when they get old or bumped off the site.

Those boards have a feature where you can click on a post and the post number will pop up in the reply field as ">>(post number here)". When you post your reply the reference to the post number will become a link and if you click it you will jump to that post to see what you were replying to. On some boards you just have to hover your cursor over the link and it will pop up a little box with the posts content.

It sounds to me like this is something that would be fairly easy feature to add. It would help alot both in the forums and the vote chess posts since you could be clear about what you're responding too without having to quote it. Alot of pages here on chess.com gets huge because of long posts and several boards in the post and when this post gets quoted the pages usually gets very long.
