My native language is English. I am fluent in Spanish because of classes in high school and a short-term mission trip to Chile. Because I know Spanish, I can decipher languages like Portugese and Italian for the most part, but can't even begin to speak them. I'll also be taking an American Sign Language class beginning next week (going to college in the Rochester, NY area, where there is a sizable deaf population).
