I was wondering if you could help me! I live in Portland, OR and am looking to play in a larger tournament outside my city, while keeping costs down. I note that many of the sites, eg world open, chicago open, seem quite far from an airport, such that travel would likely require renting a car, and hotel nights before and after tourney. Playing in something like world open, however, would run me well more than $1000! $350-400 for plane ticket, four or five days hotel + entry fees.
Does anyone know of a tournament where one doesn't need to rent a car, or that otherwise has a convenient location for outsiders traveling to it? I know of tournaments in my area that I can drive to, but playing in a much larger setting would be a good experience!
Thank you for your help!
