In Portuguese most of adjectives have gender differences, so "ready" could be "preparado" for men and "preparada" for women.

I decided to use the neutral form "preparado(a)", very common in open letters.

That's a great idea. But, you have to know that the Portuguese language has two major differences: the Brazilian Portuguese and the Portugal's Portuguese. In essence they're almost the same but due to more than 500 years and a big Atlantic Ocean separating the two nations, the languages have some different adjectives, nouns, verbs, slangs, etc... And some terms translated to one may sound like too formal or informal to the other.

Ola pessoal do Brazil, gostava de dizer que como outra qualquer lingua, nem tudo se traduz  exactamente de uma para outra

Ingles para portugues ou o inverso também existem muitos problemas

Por exemplo Saudade em ingles "nao existe", somente podemos tentar exprimir como I miss you

I can help you with translating into Chinese (mainland), but the problem is I get "connection interrupted" everytime I click on the link. What to do? By the way, I'm not a native speaker but my wife is.
