    How does one create an original theme here for their profile?

    On your homepage, on the right hand side, it says "account" .. click on that.

    The click where it says "Styles and Themes"

    You can use the drop down box to choose whether you want to create a new theme, browse other themes available or choose standard chess.com theme.
