I have all my alerts turned off and everytime I log on there is 10 alerts from chess.com in my messages and they are all about turneys - I am not in any turneys.  I am missing messages sent to me by other players because of all the chess.com ones filling up my mail.  How do I get this to stop?

You need to go to the team that they are coming from, and on the right hand side of the team page is a link that says "Alerts". If you click that link, you can shut the alerts for that team off there.
