You don't have to play slow to join the Chess Turtles, you just have to have enuf patience to play with those of us who ARE slow.

Amusing thread. Tongue out

I took notes when darius and artfizz were discussing mathematical algorithms for chess (there are, strangely, some good tips for beginners sprinkled throughout), but that was quite a bit of topic deviation!

I nominate Hypergraphia as the slowest first responder to a thread - coming in at #87. (There may be slower first responders - but they haven't moved yet.) Billium248's ambiguity regarding slowness is lamentable. Were he dead (perish the thought), I could have referred to the late Billium248. Perhaps he is the slowest (in a mental agility sense) player on chess.com?

I fear for Hypergraphia's chess playing on the basis of the lessons he has drawn from discussions in this thread. The proof on interestingness was, technically speaking, a load of dingo's kidneys. Were he to follow the algorithmic approach to solving chess, he could safely lay claim to being the slowest player in this - or any other - universe.

In a further nod to Gödel's Strange Loops, it appears that Billium248 may be both the slowest AND the fastest   (http://www.chess.com/forum/view/community/group-hysteriaplayer on chess.com.

For others who are slow like me (or who don't mind playing us slow pokes), I have created a new group called the The Chess Turtles!!  Everyone is welcome!!

Thanks for the heads up about the group.  I just joined.  At an average time per move of 1 day and 5 hours, I am sure I qualify as a turtle!

Thanks again,

George

Ekina's account has been closed (something to do with slow play?), the most I have seen is 2 days 17 hours.

I used to have over two days per move.  I lost a lot of my games on time.  My time per move is better now.

I've been playing the same game for what seems like a year with Sam-Musil.  He's got your time beat several times over.  Just did a check and it was 2 days 15 hrs.
