    It means, usually, that they either 1. Don't consider themselves a part of any country or 2. They aren't comfortable sharing their countries in a public forum like this.

    Personally I love to share countries. Right now I am borrowing St Kitts.

    Thanks furtiveking, I had thought of your first suggestion but not your second.

    I think it is interesting to know a little something about members as we play to have something to chat about.

    Like the Saint Kitts/Nevis flag!

    Thanks Eric,

    Good job on the site by the way. Enjoy it very much!

    Guess the computers here at Chess.com decided not to mention where they are from and prefer to be one with the universe. :>))   That's cool!  And they say computers lack personality, not here.

    In making a few personal inquiries;

    "Why do you have an International symbol after your name"?

    Several Chess.com members mentioned that they did not realize that they had selected it and offered that perhaps it was the default for that selection.

    The reason it came to my attention originally was when I noticed how many of the new players I was meeting were using the International symbol. It seemed like a dramatic increase.

    Does anyone know if International is the default if you do not select a country of origin?

    Has anyone else become a member of the International commmunity without actually selecting it?

    Hello to all,
