I would be highly insulted if I found out my opp. Was using a generator against me. However, I'm not talking about a gen. I'm trying to learn more variations and browsing the db will show possible moves and percentages of players that have used them. I'd like to be able to use this resource for moves 4,5and 6. To help with my understanding of openings, not for a tactical advantage to win games. I'm an honest person so I would like the feedback this way I can prevent myself from considering myself a cheat.

You can consult an opening database whenever you like, as long as it's an Online/Correspondence-style game. In fact, there's a link to "Explore" right next to the board - which is exactly that. :)
