I have mixed feelings about which is better... live chess or online chess (on chess.com). They both have many pros and cons.
live- pros
gain experience for quicker games, etc.
cons-blunders are more likely in quick live games like bullet
Online- pros
you can thouroghly understand your games, moves, stratagies, etc.
cons-
not good for impatient people(like me :P) and your rating won't really tell your overall ability if you just keep playing weak players over and over...
What is the chess.com communty's favorite? I'd like to hear what you guys like better... Live or Online?
I play more games live. I spend as much time on correspondence games, which I consider serious games.
It's the classic "quantity vs. quality".
Correspondence chess has strengthened my skill over the years. Blitz has deprived me of my hard-earned improvement by nurturing bad habits and shallow thinking. OTOH, blitz keeps me off the hard drugs.
This is getting very off topic...
