Billium, God will prevail here.  You keep your faith up.  And no matter what people say, God does answer prayers - he hears all of these prayers.  Don't let anything discourage you.

A quick story of encouragement - a man in my church was dying of cancer, but he never gave up.  He kept coming to church, and we kept praying for him.  He was actually on his deathbed, and my pastor went to visit him.  He told him, if God takes you, then you go home to be with Jesus.  If God lets you live, then you are healed and can be with your wife.

Sergio lived, and not only that, he is totally cured of the cancer.  NOT only that, but he is back to work, and he helps out with sound at the church.

Sergio used to be a Christian, but turned his back on God for 27 years, and when he was on his deathbed, he gave his life back to Christ.  Christ gave his life back to him!

People can debate against prayer all they want, but it works.  There is too much proof about prayer working.

Billium, today be encouraged and believe not only that Jesus will heal your father, but that he will come home.  Also, believe for his life to be changed.

I will write you in private after this, because anything else I want to say, I want to say to you outside of here - not in the mood to give people a chance to lock the thread with debate.

Not to be contrary -- I hope your dad makes a speedy recovery.  But are you (switching now to a different "you") serious?!?  Proof by anecdote?  Your story might just as easily prove that it was the 27 years as an atheist that saved Sergio.  Want to buy some snake oil?

 Amen.

He was released from the hospital today.  He is coming to stay with me for a while.  Thank you to everyone who has contacted me, either in private or in this thread.  It means a lot to me.  Thanks.

Studies have shown prayer doesn't work.

Why didn't you just write in private to begin with BirdBrain? Or perhaps you could have written about the tens upon tens of thousands of people who die horribly each year despite giving their whole lives in service to religion? Where was their god when they needed it? Oh wait, they are at home with Jesus aren't they! Win/win situation!

And you're not 'in the mood' to give people the chance to lock this thread with debate!  You can say what you like but others can't? What logic! What reason!! Makes me sick, but hey, I don't have to read this thread do I? This thread that should have been locked long, long ago. Frown

God answered that question of why He allows these things (suffering and so on) but this is not the place or time to go over it, and prayer doe's work in God's timing not ours.

I am glad he has recovered mate i hope all works out for u and ur family on this issue.

Maybe hell is where the party is at. Maybe hell is the place to be.
