Also when u clikc JOIN --> Forgot Password --> Help and support forums it ends up being a missing page..

Just a couple of questions if I may. I have 2 children aged 6 and 8. Both are interested in learning and developing their skills but both are at very different skill levels.

1. Do I make an account for each child?

2. Shall I just make one account for both?

3. DoI make the account in my name or theirs?

Nice it is brilliant that you made this site for kid's but as said in some of the other post it would be nice that our kid's could chose their user-name.

My daughter is Danish and we live in the South of France and she doesn't understand why she has to pick a user-name which is English.Beside this she has one user name which she use on other kid sites which is the same for every site which is very practical when comes to luck in.

This could seems to be a minor problem which it is, but for the kids it is a major as this is very important for them to be happy with there appearance.

But thank you chess.com for having made it easier for us parents to teach and have a save place for our kid's to play chess.

WolfLeader

looks great, but i like this site better, also, i am a teen. so I WISH I WAS A KID AGAIN :)

buster47,

this technique is very common, and should be the standard, for kids-only websites. it's a deterrant from inappropriate usernames. i had my son, 9, sit with me while we scrolled through the usernames and he picked one that he liked. there is still a level of involvement and uniqueness while still maintaining a safe environment.

you should make your own account first, and your kids should make their own accounts too. you can then manage those kids. :)

I chose the name "DefectiveTurtle" cause that's typically the speed I play at. :-)

I am a kid. 10 years old. Listen to all of this:

  1. can't choose a username
  2. Can't join groups by yourself
  3. where is says parent email kids have emails and they also know how to lie!
  4. I don't know any kids younger than 3 that play chess so I don't understand why it treats us like that.
  5. I don't see any alert messages
  6. If I forget my username and my parents haven't made a parent account yet what do I do
  7. no forums!!!!!
Sorry not trying to be mean

1. There are 1,000's of names you can choose from. 2. As a child on that site you should only be joining really to learn chess? 3. Yes my kids are experts at lying but if I am supervising properly then I will KNOW when this happens? What alert messages do you want? I am having a game right now and I get alerts when it is my turn. You should be able to get an email telling you your log in details sent to you?? (a good suggestion!?)

I'm not under 13, but I'm not over 13 either, and I made an account just to check it out. Is that all right?

Not forgetting IM Pruess and Jay who are both members of staff and are working hard even now to develop this site :)

Another small bug:

There's no scroll bar for the move list like on chess.com, so after 10 moves it goes out of the box and into where the submit move button is.
