I've been a member of chess.com for about 4 months now, have played a number of games, met really nice people and have had some really good times!

Noticing that there are lots of very young people out here, I wonder if there also are lots of OLD people here? I'm an old guy and I wøould really like to know the seniors (not seniors by membership, but by age)..

Maybe we could start a group called "Old People's Group" or "Senior Chess Players" or something like that for those of us born, let's say before 1950 ?

Please respond, ok?  All the best to you all from an old man in Norway.Cool

not to sure there are very many of us, but like the sound of a group, made up of people born before 1950, how do we go about starting one?

Hi born 1952 but at 55 years of age not young or to old  I play chess in the Edinburgh Chess League and in my club we have a player who is eighty but a couple of weeks ago we were at an away game against Edinburgh Chess Club which is the second oldest chess club in the world still going started 1822 and still going strong, anyway my old friend Jim Harris played a friendly game against there oldest player who is a very young 90 year old see my photo album.

sitting face to face Jim and Johnny Marr a player to be reconed with he has taught a lot of people a thing or two about the game of chess also check Geoff Chandlers web site called ...chandler cornered http://www.chessedinburgh.co.uk/chandlerarticle.php?ChandID=247

this is an artical Geoff about his old friend Geoff has played over a 1000 games with Johnny Marr so have a look at this site it is a great site and funny too

all the best to you young or old     jim crawford (niddrieboy)

Thank you all for responding! Now I don't know how to start a group, just got the idea about "seniors" on chess.com. If anyone of you "oldies" have suggestions how to form a group or any other stuff, please post it..!

Maybe if we wait a little longer, more people will read this and post their ideas and opinions?

I will keep track of the postings every day and hope for more of you people out there to write..!

All best from  aminor7b5 (my name is the desciption of a musical chord, Am7b5, by the way).

I was born in 1431, do I qualify? Please say "yes", as I really like old people.... spit-roasted, boiled in oil or impaled.

Slow roast pensioner (the wrinkly skin crisps to perfection) accompanied by English Mustard is a rare treat, just gotta watch out for those swanky French restaurants... they serve garlic with everything.

Well.. I think you should stay away from the "senior menu", you'll probably get poisoned, become seriously ill and never be old enough to join this group.. Bon apetite..!

Takk for innlegget! Din norsk er bra nok til at den blir forstått!
