I mean on the coaching list if I were to tell someone I want to be coached would I have to pay?

There are many here who write useful articles, offer advice, play learning games with lower-rated players, and analyze games as they have a chance. But if you want a stronger player to make a regular and serious commitment to helping you improve week after week--in other words, an official coach--you generally have to pay.
