A quick search of chess.com turned up 0 results for any petitions to ban Cheater.

Perhaps I just can't find it; I can't believe we haven't made one yet.

Anyways, Cheater_1 brags the "most popular forum topic" on chess.com. Let's change that. I propose we begin the petition to ban Cheater here and now.

We've heard enough of the pitiful Cheater whining all about our chess-player's utopia, while threatening, yet refusing to leave.

Erik, I think you posted today Aug 3 that you're "filing your divorce papers". Please club Cheater out of our site like a baby seal in swiling season (inside joke). This site is too classy, too good, for such a child.

So here it is. Members of chess.com for the ban of cheater_1,  sign here.

When the person who plays the "cheater_1" character sees this thread, he is going to laugh and laugh and laugh some more.

Then he will crack a cold one and laugh some more. Nothing would make him happier than to see this petition grow and grow.

Just ignore his threads.  He thrives on the attention.

Us kayakers are a little sensitive to the baby seal jokes.

Though the more hypocritical among us may club one when no one's lookin', if we need to patch a skin on frame boat ;).

 Unfortunately, I have to agree.  The more we post about him, the more we encourage him and give him what he wants.  Everytime we post, we push that thread back into the "Most Recent" list and encourage others to post, which in turn only encourages him more.  The best way to ban him is to ignore him.  Of course, by posting this I'm doing exactly what I'm telling all of you not to do.  So rest assured that this will be my last post about Jerry Springer..., I mean Geoffrey Figer..., I mean cheater1.  PLEASE stop encouaging him!  If you ignore him, he WILL go away.  He needs an audience.  Don't give him one.

So, on a lighter note, hows the weather in Canada?

lol its funny how the people who hate cheater_1 the most are the ones feeding him the most, making him more talked about and more of a dominating figure.  Regardlless of how you talk about him, he has become the number one topic discussed on a chess website.......(????????)  And seriously... if you actually got the staff to ban him, he could just be cheater_1.1 then cheater_1.2 etc.... IP bans dont even work so banning wouldnt ever get rid of him if that is what you wanted to do... but GJ in throwing another log into the inferno that is cheater_1.  Next topic about him should be callled... "Just another Cheater_1 Thread"

Wow he is hated! I personally dont care if he stays or goes its his choice all he has done was run at the mouth nothing to me worth pertitioning about. Cheater_1 if u want to leave do so but as far as im concerned u tend to be a jerk and honeslty u wont be missed a great deal. So whatever u decide is cool with me. The world doesnt revolve around u Mr. Cheat!

I think I disagree.  To some extent, the world *does* revolve around cheater_1.

If he was no longer part of the site, I expect the cheater_1 following would just find one or more new controversial figures.

As long as he's around, cheater_1 has an iron grip on being the most controversial, annoying, iconoclastic figure here, and I don't think anyone could entirely replace it.

Dont care to replace that! And wont miss his ramblings either i come here to play chess and make friends not listen to an up-himself want to be chess player....
