A great feature would be to allow you take back a move. Sometimes I'm in the middle of a great game and accidentally move a piece or blunder and there's no way to undo it and learn some valuable lessons from the position.

keep your paws off the pieaces unless you intend to move them
Well, sometimes I make a well intentioned blunder and would like to continue the game using another line to see what would have happened.
Does anyone know what the rating of the computer is on its various skill levels. Just an approximation woudl be helpful.

I think I've heard that little chess partner is ~1800 playing strength on hard? It's not all that strong, but there are several good UCI engines that you can use that allow you to take back poor moves and re-start if you're interested in going that route.

I just started playing chess and have been playing the computer on easy. I lose most of the time, but i was wondering what the approximate ratings on easy medium and hard were as well?
emiab
There is an option for upgraded players. It is called exactly like that , a "take back " game. Unrated , of course and it means exactly that, you can take back the other player's move, and consequently, yours. It implies trust . Gallons of it.

Does anyone know what strength the computer is on its easiest level?
I'm more or less a beginner, but I am beating the easy level about 40% of the time and was wondering what rating that might translate into.
santiR
I agree. And I also think you should be able to save your games. Some of them are really good.

I know the ratings (got it at FAQ):
Easy:1200
Medium: 1500
Hard: 2000
Thanks. So I guess I'm not doing so badly for a beginner. I beat it on the toughest setting one time, but usually I get killed. LOL
KedDuff
i dont think its at 2000 on hard i can beat it most of the time, it makes bad positional mistakes. never messes up tactically tho.i would say its around 1800.
