I noticed earlier that the percent of people voting "offer draw" is calculated together with the percent for the moves so for example if move A gets 40% of the votes move B gets 30% and offer draw gets 30%. This is fine when just looking at the moves since the move that gets most votes will be played either way. The possible problem would be when the team wants to offer a draw. You need 50% votes for offer draw for the team to do it. Now say there are 10 people on the team, 6 people vote for move A and 4 people vote for move B additionally 5 of them also wants to offer a draw. The vote count would be move A 40% move B 26,6% and offer draw  33,3%. Offer draw doesn't get 50% even if half of the team wants to offer a draw.

Now I don't know for certain if this is actually a problem since I've never seen a draw offered in vote chess but it seems to me like it's possible so I thought I'd mention it.

If there are 10 members on a team, where did the extra 5 come from?

Are you saying of the 10 that made moves, 5 also wanted draws? Are the choices not, move on the board or offer draw?

You can vote for a move and for offering a draw Sun.

Yes, I agree with you Neneko, this seems like a problem.

i think the way draw and resignation votes are calculated it's.

you vote for tour move and for the draw but the draw its calculated only at the end of the voting, so they count how many people participated on that voting sesion and after that the draw/resign votes are calculated.

I can't  really tell if this is the way it happend and to be certain a some one of the dev team will have to clear it.

This does sound like a problem. From the 10 members that voted, all 10 would also have to offer a draw to reach 50%.

I'm only in one vote chess game, and it's not my move so i can't add up all the percentages. If Azoth is right, then the total should go over 100% if the draws and resignation offers are calculated separately.

I did add up the percentages before that's why this started to worry me. At least on the list that we see Everything adds up to 100% including the offer draw option.

The solution seems to be for many people to vote only on draw and not a specific move.

A better solution would be for the formula to reflect members voted, rather than votes cast, when determining percentages.

This is true, it would fix it, but I'm affraid most people would offer a draw but also play a move (in case draw offer is rejected).

Now let's imagine the WHOLE TEAM A offers a draw and doesn't make any moves.

Now the 6 hrs went by and it's TEAM B's turn. My question is: It is not really their turn to move (since TEAM A didn't make any move just propossed a draw) but their turn to consider the offer. I wonder if this would introduce an unanticipated bug. Also, if at this point they decline, then it's our turn again back in the same position but 12 hrs were wasted on a draw offer that was not accepted...

They would have to institute a seperate vote count for draws and resignations. To relieve the problem chessjoe iterated, one would have to make a move before being able to vote to draw.

I think that if no moves were made, the other team wins on time. This is easy to avoid, one person votes a move and draw while the rest just draw

In the vote chess game Old vs. Young!

we are now bitten by this bug! I think both teams are trying to vote for a draw offer, but we never get to 50%! I would be grateful if someone could look into this.
