I switched my board color to sand the other day in Live, and for the next few games it spawned these lovely marbled boards. I regret not taking any more screenshots as the game progressed because the colors would change as pieces moved onto the squares. I actually quite liked it, I think the board after this one was even better.

Pretty, no?

same thing happened to me on live chess a few days ago... but it was annoying i though
