Quote functionality

Does anyone know what has happened to the quote functionality in use on the forums.  

Quotes no longer appear directly under the name of the poster, but rather you get a poster chain, then a quote chain.

If this was a deliberate change, I for one do not think it was for the better.

What does everyone else think?

I think the quote here looks fine. You would prefer it to show a different way?

 Thanks, it looks fine here too.

Perhaps it is just something that arises from Google Chrome, which I have been trialing?

here I was thinking the exact same thing.

I just checked it and it's chrome that make the quotes look bad. Weird error.
