so we say good-bye to one of chess.com's most tedious members--his account has been terminated.  part of me is sad to see him go but not because i liked him much, but cuz this dude really was troubled.  i wonder if he'll be ok.  haha

Wow.  Last night after reading one of his rants, I took the unusual (for me) step of blocking him because I was convinced that nothing good could come of a chance encounter.

Any idea why his account was terminated?  He is/was obnoxious, outspoken, and unpleasant... Was there a specific incident or were those qualities enough?

Brian

Literally 5 minutes ago I was thinking "Saidh has been unusually quiet", so I decided to track him down only to discover his account is now closed. I wonder what prompted this... was he pushed or did he jump?

Given that people can sign up on chess.com for free, how is one so sure that he won't be back (from the grave!) in another form?

It seems that the accounts of the higher profile troublemakers are being closed -- this is the second one I've seen and when the first one's account turned up closed I thought there was an off chance that he'd closed it himself but with this I can't think of any other explanation than that chess.com is taking the stance that they won't tolerate people turning the forums into a hostile environment.

This is a good thing.

Presumably, Erik and his squad have the ability to block IP addresses. Admittedly, even this isn't foolproof, but I don't see why he'd go through so much trouble to come back when clearly, he despised us all. Wink
