The site was down for a few minutes and some of you are all curious why (I would be too!). We are currently in the middle of optimizing our database because the site is growing growing growing and we have more and more users, and more and more data, and we are optimizing how all of that interacts.
This is one of the biggest causes of disconnects on Live Chess :(
Sorry about the inconvenience - but hopefully we'll get everything super duper fast very soon!
Nice, if you get time can I suggest the following
In the vote chess archives the "leave game" link and "return to current game" link are only 2mm away, my dyspraxic sausage fingers comicly fell foul of this very recently. Maybe the button being further appart and a big idiot box warning may of helped?
ps. my arm is broken and in plaster and in order to maintain chess.com's number 1 status, we need to appeal to the invalid and infirm. I know it's alot to ask but for the next 6 weeks could the website feature "wrong hand" friendly links?
Thanks Pete
thanks for the updates and here is a suggestion if you have the time:
being able to put notes on squares or pieces.(ps there is a forum topic about it)
thank you for updating the site more than usual chess sites update
Oh thankfully the site is back up again - I got scared there for a second: my gaze went from the computer screen over to the window, through which I saw an odd radiant lumination emanating. I was like... what is that? I wandered over and looked out - and behold! I remebered! The sun! Trees! Life!
I was in the midst of tying my shoes, ready to venture out on an adventure in the fresh air when I saw that the site was back up. PHEW - talk about a close call, eh?
How did you break your arm, Pete??
/oh, and psst, boys - I think this is the current thread for site ideas
