What a tradition! Stop by The American Sports Club and Grill to play this week's College and NFL Challenge. Every week we pick the winners and award the silly football trophy. Basketball and hockey are also underway and we're looking for fans to chew the fat and boast. Coaching changes? We've got it covered. Draft picks? In the bag. MVP awards? Are you kidding? Join the best sports group here at Chess.com, and a happy Thanksgiving to all!!Smile

There is nothing like stuffing your self and then kicking back and watching some football.

I will make a prediction about that day.... ready?

Remember..... you heard it here first...... this is huge, so make sure you are sitting down when you read this.....

The Detroit Lions will lose on Thanksgiving Day!

I know this may come as a shock to some (most?) of you. But I really do see this happening. Now, when it happens, I dont want anyone calling me a prophet or anything like that. Im just a simple guy calling 'em as I see 'em.

Bears over Jets?  You have got to be kidding me!  The Jets lost to the Raiders for crying out loud. (Okay, my Denver Broncos did too)  The Bears got the beatdown by the Packers.  The Lions are great at getting leads.  It's just they suck at holding them.  My superbowl prediction is Giants over the Steelers

Giants aren't going to repeat. If there's 1 thing I know, it's that.

My team is the Giants (soon to be 2 time consecutive super bowl champs). But in case you didn't notice, the Jets just beat the undefeated Titans! And if you want a more general discussion of Thanksgiving, join the American Group!

Giants over Jets in super bowl.

I really feel bad for the Lions have to play the Titans after having their potential perfect season ending against the Jets. I think the game will be over by half time and the Lions are probably going to tie the record by the expansion Tampa Bay Buccaneers who lost their first 26 games ever played before they finally won a game.

I'll make a couple of predictions here.

Eli Manning of my Giants beats Brett Farve again, this time in the Superbowl.

For Thanksgiving, Detroit beats Tennesee (for non-football fans, Detroit always plays well on t-day--their only nationally televised game)

The Dallas Cowgirls get sooooo close--then choke and miss the playoffs (but T. O. will give a good show--by crying at the post-game)

I'm going to be about 15 pounds heavier by Friday (probably the only prediction here to come true)

I love you all, chess-players.  Drive safely and have a good Thanksgiving.

Can we get a slaughter rule in the NFL?  I am afraid after the Titans vs Lions game we will wish we had one.  :-)

I know that the Jets beat the Titans, but were the Titans really that good anyways?  Sure they were undefeated, but the never really beat anyone convincingly.  The Jets are NOT going to make the Superbowl in the AFC.  Heck, they may not even win their own division.

Well, the Lions did manage to only lose by 18 last week... so who knows, maybe the Titans will only win by two touchdowns. :-)
