NEEDS TO STOP.  Immediately.

I'm sick of clicking on a thread, and seeing another person complaining about someone's behavior.  Grow up, learn to deal with people who cause you problems.  Ignore them.  This is a chess website, go take a look at MySpace if you wanna play the "I'm cooler than you" game.

I just wish the majority of discussion on here was about chess, and not who should/shouldn't be banned.

My post may be counter-intuitive because I'm not talking about chess either, but don't get smart with me; set that aside and listen to what I'm trying to communicate.  It's a valid point.

Seriously, telling chess players not to be smart with you is like telling a zebra not to be black and white

Does that mean I should be dumb? I don't get how you're sick of complainers, yet you are actually complaining about complainers.... A vicious cycle of contradiction.

while everyone else seems to be confused by your call to action, just know there are some people who are intelligent and understand exactly what you mean.

To the author:  There are "smarter" and more tactful ways to complain of complainers.  Try being in the middle of the two opposite positions and then enlighten us with your opinion.  But, I don't want to get "smart" with you, because I should never dare to second mind you. =P

Before you try and act intellectually superior than the other posters realize that EVERYONE here realizes what his point was.

However, you on the other hand failed to realize the other posters motives. Maybe one day we can build a sarcasm/satire detector for those deficient in the skill.

Photray, my friend, I appreciate the sentiment, but things have changed in both of our absence. The quality of posters is markedly diminished - you're trying to save what is already tarnished. These days you'd be lucky to find a single interesting thread in the poor trash heap of these forums. I suspect it's largely due to groups - the real friendly camaraderie goes on in those secret niches, while the forums proper is left to remarkably pureile, juvenile, pablum.

Don't let it get you upset or defensive good sir, better yet, let it go altogether - leave the fools to frolick, pick a friendly group and make a point to increase the quality of the threads therein.

This place is beyond saving - and I should know, having once been one of it's most fevrent organizers... trust me.

this is why non-paying members should have a limit of about 5 posts per day and no thread starting rights.  this would totally cut back on the riff raff--wait, is there irony here?  should i self evaluate?  hmmm.

unfortunately doing that would probably decrease non-member traffic on the site.  i think they've made some restrictions though.
