This time I don't want to win!

I keep winning games on time and it is very annoying because it doesn't help my chess and feels very hollow.  I have deselected the "auto-win by time" option in Settings but I still win games on time and I have won my last twolike this, the option would be very helpful if it works!!  Is anyone else having this problem?

Silly question, but did you click save at the bottom after unchecking it?

Yeah I did, and I know I did because the box is still unchecked when I return to it.

tournament games are NOT affected. otherwise people could stall tournaments indefinitely :)

Ah, that makes a lot of sense, thank you.  Still, very annoying when your best win could be on time, I almost feel like resigning.

Just try to deal with it :-).  I fully understand, but don't let petty things like that get to you.  Be satisfied in knowing that you saw the game to the end, and your opponent missed what you found!  Think about Steinitz and Von Bardelben, or how you say his name (don't remember) when he ran out of the room, and Steinitz then demonstrated the mate in 10 I believe.  A win is a win.

Surely though eric (and team) a better way to operate this for tournaments would be to pause the game for a bit- say until the group finishes or the round of the tourney- and then claim the win on time??
