I am hosting a tournament for the disabled and/or shut-in members of chess.com.  The  response has  been---  nil.  Iam  the only  one  to  register .  Why???  am  i  the  only  disabled shut-in  member  of chess.com?

You probably aren't, since you mustered up the money for platinum...

perhaps you should start a Group  - that might attract some additional members?
