See I was in a tournament and i withdrew from it and i understand i was going to loose points and i accepted that fact. but i know that when your in a game and resign or withdraw you are not suppose to loose points when their has been none or 1 move made. So i talked to staff and they said it was a new thing so people pull through with the games they started. so i thought that was a good idea and all. but lately i have been seeing alot of games go on where they had not lost any points with none or 1 move. ad I would like to know what up with that? How come im the only one being screwed over?

I would suppose that the rule only applies to tournaments. Did you think about that possibility?

If not, maybe they decided it was a bad rule after all, which would mean you belong to the few that were 'victimized' during its existence.

I find it hard to believe that a chess website with over 500,000 subscribers singles you out to play cat-mouse games. Laughing

I dropped from 1580 to 1470 a few days ago because of that rule. =) You are not the only one. =)

Unfortunatly, there is no support group for this type of thing, LOL.

In a non-tournament game, you 'Abort' if its earlier than move 4, not 'Resign'.
Aborting a game has no effect on the ratings of the players.

In a tournament game, no matter how many turns have been played, you cannot 'Abort', just 'Resign'.
Resigning has the same effect on ratings whether its after 0 moves or 300 moves.
