If chess.com had animated chess like battlechess, and some variations, like gothic chess, or absorbtion chess, I would have to seek professional help to curb my addiction.

well, i'll help you out then - chess.com will NEVER have animated pieces. it just isn't realistic for a web-based program unless we use something obtuse like Shockwave Player, which we won't.

as for variations... those are far off in the distance.
