when you're in too many groups and the end up playing against each other what do you do?  Or, more to the point: what should I do?

I've joined a bunch of groups, and there is the potential that they will play each other in matches or vote chess and stuff.  Should I "recuse" myself from participating?

I'm sure this has come up for people before, so I'm wondering what others have done.

    thanks in advance.

There is no dilemma, you are barred from playing for either.

What is more important to you - the team matches or the group?

If you want to play in the team matches, quit one of the groups, and join the match.

If you have remorse later, you can always rejoin the group you quitted - that match/game will not be affected.

Getting in too many groups would be very annoying

Hey Zugzeit, you may be right about that, but I also feel like I'll learn a lot more about chess and get better. I find it-- so far and I only a couple of days ago chose to get into a bunch of groups-- a better way to do vote chess than just joining the big open "cattle-call" type games.  Vote chess really lets you dig deep into positions and also forces you to play positions you'd not get into normally as you don't have every vote go your way.

Hey Dsarkar, you want me to make choices and be responsible for my own actions?  No way buddy!  That's what forums are for.  ;^)

Hey TadDude, I hope you're right.  That would make it very easy to deal with in deed.

I think it makes the most sense -- being barred from playing for either team.  It would actually be ideal if the prohibition were programmatically enforced.

Hey TheGrobe, by that do you mean it is like written into the script of the web site?  I kinda thought that's what he meant, freeing me of actually having to make a choice.

Yeah -- I don't actually know if it is or if it isn't implemented, but if you simply couldn't join a match against another team that you're also a member of this would really be a non-issue.

    It is programmed.
