Hey, just wondering how many people have bought a t-shirt, or other stuff from the member store. I am surprised by some of the negative comments about stickin' the bumber stickers, so I wanted to get a feel for how people actually feel about being 'out' as a chess lover.

If I had a car, I'd slap a sticker on there, why not. I love this site, and I want people to know about it. I'm thinking about getting a t-shirt...that I will wear in public.

The idea that chess is for losers or nerds means absolutely nothing to me. :)

Chess is for nerds, but not for losers.  I'm proud to be a nerd.  Laughing

I'm buying a t-shirt, they have some nice designs. I don't know about the bumper sticker...it would probably damage the paint on my car.
There's no way chess is for losers, for nerds might be, but definitely not for losers!

> I really don't understand why folks are so negative on putting a bumper sticker on their car (assuming, of course, that they have a car), to advertise this site.

For the same reason I never painted a Rust-eze Bumper Ointment logo on my car. I don't wish to turn my personal transportation into a mobile advertising platform. But if you want to put logos or signs or bumper stickers on your own car, that's your right... enjoy!  :)

All bumper stickers should be banned. In fact, I'm thinking of having one made that says just that.

At the moment my particular dislikes are Baby on Board stickers and, top of the list, If You Can Read This You're Driving Too Close. I find I have to get up really near the car ahead to read that one.

Ok, this 'Baby On Board' thing...I dont get it. Please someone explain this to me, why are you telling me that you have your baby in the car??

(sorry for getting off topic)

teal, people who have a baby in their cars, tend to have a bumper sticker saying "baby on board" so other drivers will know there is a baby on board [in the car]..

I've yet to see a baby in the same car that has those bumper stickers haha

CBA was pointing out his dislike for those stickers

Yes, the sticker tells me there is a baby in there.  But why!? Why do I need to know this?

That is true though, rarely is there an actual baby on board. I wish I was a police officer so could pull people over, and be like "ma'am, I see no baby on board, please remove the sticker."

The baby on board is a placard. You're right that it is a notification, for safety reasons. I have one, and half the time there's a baby on board. I guess it's not geared towards you people but anybody who has a baby will probably drive better nearby me, as I give more consideration towards those that have it.
