With A Little Help From My Friends (Unhelpful Forum Titles)

Sort:
artfizz

Why are there so many threads with the following (or similar) titles:

Help!

I need somebody: Help

Not just anybody - Help

You know I need someone

Won't somebody please help me!

Amusing though it is to use Beatles lyrics as the title of a thread, IF only the title included some hint as to the nature of the problem then:

- someone would be more ready to offer assistance

- it would easier for others in the future to locate the solution and re-use it.

Help others to help you - to help others!

kco

here is a little help from your little helper friend.

HELP! I NEED SOMEBODY
HELP! NOT JUST ANYBODY
HELP! YOU KNOW I NEED SOMEONE
HELP!

WHEN I WAS YOUNGER SO MUCH YOUNGER THAN TODAY
I NEVER NEEDED ANYBODY´S HELP IN ANY WAY
AND NOW THESE DAYS ARE GONE
I´M NOT SO SELF ASSURED
NOW I FIND I´VE CHANGED MY MIND
I´VE OPENED UP THE DOORS

HELP ME IF YOU CAN I´M FEELING DOWN
AND I DO APPRECIATE YOU BEING ´ROUND
HELP ME GET MY FEET BACK ON THE GROUND
WON´T YOU PLEASE, PLEASE HELP ME?

AND NOW MY LIFE HAS CHANGED IN OH SO MANY WAYS
MY INDEPENDENCE SEEMS TO VANISH IN THE HAZE
BUT EVERY NOW AND THEN I FEEL SO INSECURE
I KNOW THAT I JUST NEED YOU
LIKE I´VE NEVER DONE BEFORE

HELP ME IF YOU CAN I´M FEELING DOWN...

WHEN I WAS YOUNGER SO MUCH YOUNGER THAN TODAY...

HELP ME IF YOU CAN I´M FEELING DOWN

I've always found honesty to be the best policy. If I need help I usually ask for it.

Sometimes I find people struggle in whatever area (we all have our giants to face.) But life ( and chess) are so much easier if you say "hey can you help me please?" Instead of beating the air alone, all puffed up with pride and not acknowledging that we are all mere mortals. We all have our weakness...

Indeed. Why not use Aretha Franklin lyrics occasionally. What would be neat would be to be able to associate a sound file (or song) with a topic. e.g.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGO9xcKLziI (link removed - try the next one!)  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXSocE_M1G4

There is, of course, a forum category Help & Support -which most of the help requests use appropriately.

You may be right that the effort/courage required to seek help in the first place may preclude us from being able to spell out the nature the of help being sought.
